A dead or low battery can cause a rapid clicking noise but a bad starter drive can also make a loud noise that I suppose could be referred to as a 'drilling' type noise. Get someone to try jump starting the car and you'll know for sure it it's the battery or not. i think your feeling is right. if the battery is fully charged then you hear the starter. it,s probably spinning without kicking into the flywheel. Ford and Mercury products use a starter motor with a fender mounted switch/relay.. I think the solenoid is part of the starter motor body.. The battery can be checked with a Multi-Meter..12.7 volts to 13.7 volts..standing charge.. If the battery reads..below 12.5 volts..it needs to be re-charged.. Use 10-amps for about 6-hours..then re-check the standing charge. it's your starter, there's a spring inside that engages the starter to the flywheel and it's broken Auto parts : Fuel Filler Hose Acura 1995 . Hi all, I backed into the garage today, and I misjudged the distance between my side mirror and the edge of my garage door. As a result, the casing of the side mirror came off, but it clipped back into place easily. The bigger problem is that the whole mirror (which is not warped) has sort of bent downwards so that there is a small 1 cm gap between the body of the car and the mirror assembly. I have a feeling that the three screws are distorted, but how do I check this ? Also, I think it's a power mirror so I am afraid to try and open the panel from the inside to check. Is there a safe way to open the thing and see inside ? Also, does anyone know what is the cause of the mirror assembly bending down like that ? car insurance. Both the V sedan and V coupe get 14 mpg in the city and 19 mpg on the highway. Features The base sedan has a subwoofer for added bass in the sound system, while the other trim levels do not. A DVD player is standard for the V trim levels, optional for the base sedan and not available for the base coupe. The navigational system only comes with the V models, and real wood accents are optional only for the V models. Heated front seats are not available for the base sedan, but come standard with the base coupe and V models. Leather seats only come with the two V trim levels.
Volkswagen . The Differences Between CTS & DTSThe CTS and DTS are two models of cars created and manufactured by Cadillac. The CTS is a two door coupe, while the DTS is a four door sedan. The CTS was first released for the 2003 model year and, as of 2001, has a retail price ranging from $35,165 to $62,166. The DTS was introduced in 2006 as a follow up to the DeVille. The DTS ranges from $46,680 to $59,875, as of 2011. Power The CTS is available with two different engines depending on trim level. The 3.0-liter models have a 3.0-liter V6 engine that gets 270 horsepower at 7,000 revolutions per minute, whereas the 3.6-liter models feature a 3.6-liter V6 engine with 304 horsepower at 6,400 rpm. *Various types of rotors. To remove your rotor, follow these steps: 1. Before you remove your rotor, move it on its shaft. Does it move easily? If not, you really need this tune-up badly! . Chapter 12: Keeping Your Electrical System in Tune 2. Remove the rotor from the shaft. To remove a small rotor, just lift it straight up off the distributor shaft (see Figure 12-17). To remove a large rotor, you need to unscrew the two screws and lift the rotor off the distributor shaft (see Figure 12-18). 536

Lincoln MKX. * 3. Take a close look at the old rotor to see how it fits onto the shaft so that you can put the new one in properly later on. Part'"' KeeP'n9 Your Car m Good Condition, System by System All rotors go on in only one way: They either have a square-pin-insquare-hole/round-pin-in-round-hole arrangement, or they're notched or shaped so that they fit on the shaft pointing in only one direction. Still, it's a good habit to take a long look at anything you remove before you remove it, because you tend to forget how it's situated, and sometimes you have to make a choice. Don't be afraid to draw pictures if you aren't sure you'll remember how something fit together. 4. Look at the metal contacts that conduct current to the spark plug terminals. If the rotor contacts are corroded, broken, or cracked, you really need a new one! In any case, plan to use the new one after you're through working on the rest of the distributor. 5. Set the old rotor aside. Under the rotor on some vehicles, you may find something called the centrifugal advance (see Figure 12-19). Its function is rather complicated, it has nothing to do with this minor tune-up, and it hardly ever breaks. Just leave it where it is and forget it. Figure 12-19: A centrifugal advance. Remove and replace the condenser Under the rotor (and possibly the static shield) are the points and condenser. Before you remove the condenser, look at the two little wires, one leading to the points and the other to the condenser, that join together — usually with some sort of little screw and washer arrangement (refer to Figure 12-13). Take a good look at how the wires (sometimes called leads) fit together in the gadget that holds them (called the primary terminal). The main purpose of the primary terminal is to prevent the clips at the ends of these wires from touching the floor of the distributor, which is called the breaker plate. If they touch the breaker plate, they short out and the car doesn't start. Now follow these steps: 1. Take a closer look at how the wires connect. Are the little clips at the ends of the wires touching each other? Or are they separated with something? Does the screw that holds them in place touch them? Or is there something in between? Figures 12-21, 12-22, 12-23, and 12-24 show how to disconnect several types of primary terminal arrangements.
